Spade & Spoon

Spade & Spoon

Spade & Spoon crafts high quality Ontario jams, pickles, chutneys, relishes, fermentations, maple syrups, and other culinary creations using fruits and veggies grown in their garden and from their network of growers around the family farm. Adam and Blythe's grower/producer arrangement and homemade approach ensures that you will enjoy the freshest taste while reviving the lost art of food preservation. They use pots and pans, not vats and conveyor belts.

The importance of fresh ingredients is well known in the culinary world, with chefs the world over growing their own ingredients for the sake of quality and taste. This is something that Blythe and Adam have come to feel very strongly about, and as such strive to grow as many of their own ingredients as possible, letting the Ontario climate and their garden selection shape and influence their recipes. Many of their preserves are prepared and canned on the very same day they are picked out of the garden! Unlike commericial canneries, who use left-overs from food terminals or discounted undesirables, Blythe and Adam grow their own and source very fresh ingredients to ensure the best taste and quality. they love food, love farming, and the food they make is a testament to that!
